Mission
To develop, finance, and compassionately administer programs to provide healthcare and other social services to Hoosiers in need in order to enable them to achieve healthy, self-sufficient and productive lives.
Program Description
The Bureau of Family Resources manages the following services:

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) provides financial assistance to low-income families with a child under the age of 18 years of age who is deprived of parental support of one or more parents.

The SNAP program is designed to raise the nutritional level of low income households by increasing available food purchasing dollars with SNAP benefits.

The Indiana Manpower & Comprehensive Training (IMPACT) service provides to TANF and SNAP recipients job-related services to help them become economically self-sufficient.
Financial
Public assistance programs have various financial limits, dependent upon the type of assistance that is applied for; most use some level of the Federal Poverty Index for eligibility.
