Providing a forum for individuals and families to join together Reducing the incidence of developmental disabilities Supporting the work of the local chapters of The Arc Serving as the spokesperson to the community at large for people with developmental disabilities
Program Description
Under Indiana's Medicaid Waiver program, anyone who has a Family Support Waiver or Community Integration and Habilitation Waiver can use up to $2,000 of their budget per year for Family and Caregiver Training. Family and Caregiver Training can provide training and education to parents, other family members and non-paid caregivers in a variety of categories including:

• Treatment Regimens
• Community Integration
• Use of Equipment
• Behavioral Intervention Strategies
• Stress Management
• Mental Health
• Parenting
• Caring for Medically Fragile Individuals
• Family Dynamics
• Conferences

Up until now, if a family wanted to utilize this service, they had to pay out of pocket and wait to be reimbursed by the state. The Arc of Indiana has developed a program that will make this process easier and more accessible.
