Founded in 1990, The Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt public charity dedicated to making chromosome 18 conditions the first treatable chromosome abnormalities. We count within our membership thousands of parents, siblings, extended family and friends, businesses, and affected individuals. Registry membership is open to any interested person.

Our work is supported by private donations from members, foundations and charitable organizations, businesses, and others interested in supporting our mission. We use these contributions and gifts to invest in both people and science; supporting our members through education and a sense of community while also focusing squarely on impactful clinical research that will lead to healthier, happier, and more independent lives for those affected and their families.
Program Description
The Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society offers a wide range of services to its members. These services are aimed at improving the lives of individuals with chromosome 18 abnormalities.
  • Our annual conference provides families an opportunity to hear the latest information while making new and long-lasting friendships.
  • Our social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and our Caregiver Message Board) are a great way to keep connected with other families that are dealing with similar questions and concerns.
  • Newsletters are another way that we keep members updated about the activities of the Registry.
  • Regional groups are a great opportunity to network with other families in your area.  Each Regional Group has at least three events a year, including a social event, a fundraising event, and an educational event.
  • We also provide Sibling, Self-Advocate, and Bereavement Support
There is no membership fee.
