Mission
The mission of The Children’s TherAplay Foundation is to provide children with special needs a foundation for developing life skills through innovative therapies, including equine-assisted physical and occupational therapies, in a safe and caring environment.
Program Description
The Children’s TherAplay Foundation is one of the few clinics in the country dedicated to providing physical and occupational therapies on horseback for children with special needs. Our therapists combine a sensory-rich, child-centered clinic with hippotherapy – the movement of horses – to provide carefully graded motor, sensory, and neurological input.

We provide customized, one-on-one treatment, for children ages 18 months to 13 years, in our child-focused clinic and on horseback.

Children's TherAplay is open Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. Our indoor, heated riding arena allows us to serve children year-round.

Financial
Children’s TherAplay is an in-network provider with Anthem, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Children’s Special Healthcare Services, and Indiana Medicaid. Each insurance plan can vary, so be sure to contact your insurance carrier to see what benefits your plan provides for outpatient physical and/or occupational therapy. If your insurance benefits have been maximized, there are options for self-pay or scholarship.

Prescription required
Each child must have a physician's referral (prescription) for occupational and/or physical therapy.  The prescription should include: “Occupational and/or Physical Therapy Evaluate and Treat” and include the child’s pertinent diagnoses and ICD-10 codes. The prescription should not say "equine therapy" or "hippotherapy" as the movement
