Mission

Our mission is to improve people's lives by mobilizing the caring power of our community. We address critical needs today and work to reduce those needs tomorrow.

Program Description

Through our Community Action Fund and grant initiatives, United Way works with member agencies and community partners to focus resources on the building blocks for a better life: education, earning, and the essentials.

Within education, earnings, and essentials, we work toward ten specific goals.

Education
We help children, youth, and adults achieve their potential:

  • Enter school ready to learn
  • Graduate school ready to earn
  • Continue building job and life skills.

Earnings
We help hard-working families get ahead:

  • Gain or maintain stable employment
  • Increase and retain income
  • Build savings and assets.

Essentials
We help individuals and families meet basic needs with access to:

  • Sufficient food
  • A stable place to live
  • Health care and wellness
  • Crisis management skills.
