Mission
It is the mission of The Aliveness Project of Northwest Indiana to assist, support and empower individuals infected and affected by HIV; promote public awareness of the disease through education and prevention programs; to work for, with and on behalf of the HIV infected population to confront discrimination; to promote compassion through advocacy and to accomplish our mission in a culturally competent manner.
Program Description

The APNWI is the only agency in the state with multiple freestanding full time HIV/AIDS services sites located in Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties.

Programs and services include the following:

  • HIV Care Coordination: The AP now serves nearly 400 clients.
  • Risky Business Program: Health Communition/Public Information
  • Outeach: HIV/AIDS 101 educational intervention that is conducted by peer or paraprofesstional educators HIV Testing and Counseling, Shelter Plus Housing, Substance Abuse counseling and support groups.
  • Free HIV Testing
