Special Olympics Indiana - Marion County believes children and adults with intellectual disabilities should have continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, learn sports skills, experience the joy of achievement, demonstrate courage, make friends, and be included in the community. To meet these needs, our volunteer driven organization provides a year-round program of training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports.

Program Description

Special Olympics Indiana is a not-for-profit organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in more than 20 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, reaching nearly 11,000 athletes across Indiana.

Athletes are offered year-round opportunities in Basketball, Bocce, Athletics, Distance Walking, Golf, Softball, Volleyball, Bowling, and Aquatics.

Financial

Special Olympics Indiana is part of the international network of accredited Special Olympics Programs that reaches more than 3 million athletes with intellectual disabilities worldwide.


Special Olympics Indiana receives no federal- or state-appropriated funds, is not a United Way Agency, and relies entirely on corporate, civic and individual donations
