Mission

AmeriCorps is a national program that connects over 70,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet our country's critical needs in education, public safety, human needs, homeland security, and the environment.

The purpose of AmeriCorps is to address unmet community needs by engaging members in service.

Program Description

All across Indiana, AmeriCorps members are getting things done in our communities.  They are mentoring youth, caring for senior citizens, improving access to health services, building affordable housing and creating plans for disaster preparedness.

Individuals with disabilities are encouranged to become AmeriCorps members, share their talents and contribute to their community.  Indiana AmeriCorps service projects provide accommodations to ensure that all members are able to serve.  There are currently over 800 AmeriCorps opportunities to serve across Indiana and most are accessible through public transportation.

Members can serve in a full-time or part-time one year commitment or in a seasonal capacity.
