Mission

The REACH Program at the College of Charleston is a four-year, fully inclusive certificate program for students with mild intellectual disabilities. The program provides students with a complete college experience allowing them to explore and realize both their intellectual and personal potential.

Program Description

As students progress through the program, they have access to the following classes and activities, with supports as needed:

  • Typical College of Charleston courses
  • Traditional on-campus housing (includes Wi-Fi access, cable tv, phone hookup)
  • Internships on and off campus for career development
  • Life skills, self-advocacy, and study skills training
  • Stern Student Center, recreation and exercise facilities, sporting events, and student clubs
  • Support for social, academic, and professional integration

Upon completion of the program, students in the REACH Program have the training and experience necessary for competitive employment.
