Mission

The Partnership on Employment & Accessible Technology (PEAT) is a multi-faceted initiative promoting the employment, retention, and career advancement of people with disabilities through the development, adoption, and promotion of accessible technology.

Program Description

PEAT is committed to dialogue, collaboration, and action. In that spirit, we have three action units. Together, these action units work to foster thought leadership, develop and disseminate public education tools, and drive solutions-oriented policy reform.

PEAT Resource Center at PEATworks.org
PEATworks.org is our central hub for accessible technology-related resources and collaborative activities. Our content focuses primarily on tools and information to help employers and the technology industry adopt and promote accessible technology as part of everyday business practices, for the benefit of all businesses and workers. Sign up for our distribution list to keep up to date on PEAT's latest activities and newest resources.

PEAT Network
PEAT is in the process of growing the PEAT Network—a connected and vibrant community that exchanges information and success stories, provides a sounding board for key stakeholders, and generates new ideas for technology leaders, employers, and policymakers. Learn more about joining this conversation.

PEAT Policy Think Tank
The PEAT Policy Think Tank is our thought leadership arm. It brings together subject matter experts and relevant industry and employer partners to identify trends, investigate opportunities, and formulate recommendations related to accessible workplace technology. We then leverage this knowledge to develop and disseminate content to educate PEAT stakeholders and inform future project efforts.

Financial

PEAT is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (link is external) and is managed by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA)
