Mission
To organize caring people to identify and meet human needs in our community.
Program Description
United Way of Johnson County operates six programs that help in times of need and make people smile, including:
  • Helpline - We answer more than 3,400 calls and make 8,000 referrals for people in need of social services.
  • Christmas Angels - We bring holiday joy to more than 1,700 children who get toys and clothing.
  • Operation Bundle Up - We warm up 736 children and 365 adults with coats.
  • Day of Caring - We match 350 volunteers with local agencies who need a variety of projects done such as rooms painted and yards cleaned.
  • Fast Track - We hand out new backpacks, pencils and supplies to 2,400 children from low-income families to start their new school year right.
  • Economic Assistance - We provide help when a financial crisis hits families. Since this program began in August 2009, 275 families have received over $448,508 in financial assistance.
