Community First Choice Option and Balance Incentive Payments Program
Friday, June 3, 2:00 – 3:30PM ET
The Affordable Care Act contains two exciting opportunities for states to improve Medicaid home and community based services that become available this October. The Community First Choice Option is a new Medicaid state plan option which will allow states to provide a broad range of personal attendant services and supports and receive a 6% enhanced federal Medicaid match. The Balance Incentive Payments Program is a new federal grant program which will provide additional funding to assist eligible states in reforming their systems to provide more community-based services, versus institutional. This webinar will provide the latest information about implementation of these new provisions and share examples of organizing by aging and disability state advocates to urge adoption.
