FSSA Seeks Your Input

The Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) is accepting suggestions for the hybrid system being designed to deliver welfare services. FSSA encourages anyone who has worked with the old caseworker system or the newer, modernized system to provide accounts of the experience and any recommendations that may have resulted. Suggestions may be sent via email to hybridinput@fssa.in.gov or by mail to:

Eligibility Modernization
In October, Gov. Daniels canceled Indiana's 10-year, $1.34 billion contract with IBM to deliver welfare services, following a January decision to halt the rollout after the system had been implemented in 59 of the state’s 92 counties. The contract will officially end on December 14th, and the Family and Social Services Administration is in the process of determining the new process for Medicaid, TANF, and food stamp applications. The new “hybrid” system is expected to include in-person or online application, face-to-face help from county workers, and uniform standards for determination of benefits. IPN will distribute additional information on the new eligibility determination system as it becomes available. Click here for more information from FSSA.
