Special Olympics Indiana & the Indiana Pacers Present: Project Unify

Special Olympics Indiana and the Indiana Pacers are joining forces to teach youth to be more accepting and tolerant of people with intellectual disabilities.  This new effort starts on Tuesday, January 26 with a Pacers basketball clinic for Special Olympics athletes from Central Indiana schools.  Special Olympics Indiana is asking other groups that serve or advocate for people with intellectual disabilities to attend this event to learn more about ways to make a difference!

The event will include a presentation on Special Olympics' plans to raise awareness about respect, acceptance, and tolerance in schools, and how attendees can participate in these plans, as well as:

  • Respect student video project - A fun way to get students thinking about what it means to respect others
  •  Spread the Word to End the Word - Special Olympics' campaign to stop the use of the "r-word"
  • Youth Rally - Information about Special Olympics Indiana's Youth Rally on March 27 and information about how you can hold your own rally in celebration of Disability Awareness Month
