Board of Directors Biographies 

Alan W. Becker, J.D., Member-at-Large

Alan W. Becker is a partner in the Business Services and Public Offerings and Securities Regulation Groups for Bose McKinney & Evans LLP. Becker assists clients with many types of corporate and financial transactions, including forming business entities and structuring their ownership arrangements, raising capital from third parties, and buying, selling, and combining businesses. A summa cum laude graduate of Indiana University Mauer School of Law, Bloomington, Becker served as a note editor of Volume 56 of the Indiana Law Journal. During his career, Becker has helped companies raise over $7.4 billion in public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, has assisted in the purchase and sale of companies worth over $1.1 billion and has worked on the organizational documents of hundreds of corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and other entities. Becker also assisted in drafting legislation to allow the creation of limited liability companies in Indiana and serves on the Indiana Business Law Survey Commission, advising the state legislature on laws affecting Indiana businesses and proposing legislative changes. Becker is the parent of a child with special needs.

Josh E. Pascoe, CPA, President

Josh E. Pascoe serves ASK as Treasurer for the ASK Board of Directors and as a member of the Finance Committee and Executive Committee. Pascoe works as Audit Manager for Deloitte & Touche, LLP, Indianapolis, Indiana and previously was Senior In-Charge Auditor there. His current responsibilities for Deloitte & Touche, LLP include primary review of annual reports, 10-Ks, and 10-Q filings; managing, training, and evaluating engagement teams; and researching and resolving technical accounting issues and performing extensive analysis of company operations and internal controls. Pascoe holds a B.S. in Accounting from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio).

Karen Bruner Stroup, PhD, Member-at-Large

Dr. Karen Bruner Stroup served Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health for 28 years as a community outreach educator where she developed and presented programs, special projects, and education materials in child safety and health. She earned local, state, and national recognition for award-winning education programming and built a successful track record in securing annual funding from private foundations and state and federal agencies.

After retiring from Riley Hospital in 2011, Dr. Stroup returned to school at IUPUI where she earned a Paralegal Certificate in 2014. She serves as Health Law Section Chair for the Indiana Paralegal Association, as a Volunteer Client Advocate for the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, as Secretary to the Riley Hospital for Children Historic Preservation Committee, and is an Adjunct Instructor for the Indiana University School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences where she teaches online classes in Proposal Writing and Global Rehabilitation and Health.

Dr. Stroup holds a B.A. in Speech Communications from Ball State University, an M.A. in Speech Communications from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), and a PhD in Speech Communications from Indiana University (Bloomington, Indiana). Stroup had two siblings with special needs.

Holly Cunningham Piggott, Secretary

Holly Cunningham Piggott is the Director of GBD Special Programs – Anthem Indiana Medicaid,  Anthem, Inc.    As an older sibling of an individual with special needs, Holly has made advocacy and assisting people with disabilities her life’s work.

Holly Cunningham Piggott currently serves as Director of Governmental Business Division Special Programs at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield (Indiana).  Previously, she worked for 24 years for ResCare as Director of Operations/General Manager at the state level and at ResCare’s Fort Wayne location as Executive Director and as Program Manager.

She has partnered with state agencies to provide better care to individuals with disabilities, met with legislators, including advocating for better reimbursement rates during the 2015 Indiana General Assembly budget session, and served previously as a board member with the Indiana Association of Rehabilitative Facilities where she assisted with planning both their annual conference and their tech conference.

Holly received her Bachelor of General Studies and a Master of Public Management:  Health System Utilization from Indiana University.

 Colleen Webster, M.S., Member-at-Large

Colleen Webster attended Indiana University from 1969-1973, earning a BS in Education. Her post graduate work was at Purdue University where she earned an MS in Education.

Webster taught at the Indianapolis Public Schools in her first year out of college in a Moderate Special Education class. She then taught at Speed Developmental Center in Chicago Heights, Illinois working in a Moderate Special Education class. She continued to work with special needs children throughout her 30 years of teaching finishing in Westfield, Indiana.

Throughout Webster's teaching career, she worked with children with varying needs including learning, medical, mental, and emotional disabilities. The challenges that these children faced ranged from severe/profound to moderate to medically fragile to Autistic. Webster also served on Autism groups which have supported families in Hamilton County. Webster has been married to her husband Jeff for 40 years. She has two daughters and one son-in law.

Stevan Richards, Treasurer

Stevan Richards is an executive leader who brings long-term successful business and financial management expertise and community fund raising experience to the ASK Board of Directors.  His experience includes twenty years of service in the banking industry where he achieved revenue growth from $5M to $10M per year within his area of management through business development and client retention.  In addition, he managed commercial loan portfolios of up to $20M, led negotiations with borrowers, lenders, attorneys, and consultants to prevent small businesses from liquidating, and developed and led training seminars in cash flow analysis and forecasting.  Stevan also created a local consulting firm where he was responsible for client development, financial management, and administrative oversight; organized and successfully led a $1.5MM bond drive to acquire land and build a new building to include a worship center, classrooms and offices, and a gymnasium as Vice President of the Board of a small community church, and has served in leadership roles with many community non-profit, county, and neighborhood organizations.

Cece Gerdenich, Member-at-Large

Cece Gerdenich received her Bachelors of Arts in Economics and Sociology from Indiana University, Bloomington in 1989.  She later received her teaching certification from Butler University in 5th-12th grades for Social Studies.  Until the end of 2014, Cece and her husband owned a craft and imported beer distribution company in Indiana.
The Gerdenichs have three school-aged daughters.  One daughter has dyslexia and another child has many medical problems and some developmental issues since birth.  Cece has been able to volunteer extensively because of the flexibility that volunteerism allows.  In addition to serving on the board of ASK, her current roles include Court Appointed Special Advocate, Children’s Museum Guild Member, Presidents Roundtable of Indianapolis, Junior League of Indianapolis, Women 4 Riley, St. Thomas Aquinas School and Church and North Central High School volunteer.

Dave Folkner, MSW, Member-at-Large

Dave Folkner contributes his long-term experience in several leadership roles in management and business operations at ResCare as a member of the ASK Board.  Currently, Dave serves as Senior Vice President for ResCare for the Louisville, Kentucky Area where he has oversight and overall management of a Residential Services region with approximately $350 million in revenue, approaching 7,000 employees, 43 operations, and 7 regional reports.  Dave, who participates as a member of the ResCare Senior Leadership Team, has overall responsibility for the oversight and management of ResCare policies and procedures, strategic planning process for Residential Services and the region, quality assurance, and financial initiatives.  He previously served as Regional Vice President, regional Director, and Executive Director for ResCare.

Ty Sullivan, MD, MBA, Vice President

Dr. Ty Sullivan brings both medical and management experience to his ASK Board Member role.  Currently, he serves as Chief Medical Officer at MDWise, Inc.  Previously, he served in leadership positions in a variety of medical settings, including Chief Medical Officer for Advantage Health Solutions, Network Medical Director for AmeriHealth Caritas, Medical Director of Utilization Management for Wishard Health Services, Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine and Pediatrics for the Indiana University School of Medicine, and Medical Director for McFarland Rehabilitation Hospital.

Dawn Haut, MD, MPH Member-at-Large

Dr. Dawn Haut serves as Chief Physician Executive for Eskenazi Health Center – Pecar, in Indianapolis, Indiana.  In this leadership role since 2002, Dr. Haut provides oversight for all medical staff, policies, regulatory visits and clinical outcomes. At Pecar, she has implemented team based care, re-engineered visit and same day scheduling.  Pecar also has served as a pilot site for embedded mental health services, medical legal partnership, food pantry, case conferences and telephone visits.  In 2015, Dr. Haut also was appointed to serve as Medical Director for Population Health, a new position created within the Eskenazi Medical Group to provide physician leadership in the health system population health care management model.  As an Associate Professor of Pediatrics for the Indiana University School of Medicine since 2002, Dr. Haut leads monthly sessions for pediatric residents on “Medical Home 101” and serves in preceptor and consulting capacities.  A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Haut has contributed her leadership to several professional committees and societies and carried out numerous professional and community presentations.
Dr. Haut earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and her Masters of Public Health from the University of Illinois in Chicago where she was awarded a Maternal and Child Health Traineeship.
