Executive Director

Joe BrubakerJoe Brubaker joined ASK in January 2011 as executive director. Prior to joining ASK, Joe served as director of development since 2002 for Young Audiences of Indiana. Other positions held by Joe over the course of his 34 year career include, the executive director for the Indiana State Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the director of development for Little Red Door Cancer Agency, the director of corporate and foundation relations with Marian University, the director of grants and research for Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, and the acting executive director with (what was) Area 6 Council on Aging. Joe served in various capacities at Area 6 Council on Aging.

As executive director of ASK, Joe’s primary responsibilities are to lead and manage the organization in accordance with the mission and values; create and maintain alliances, partnerships and collaborations with other entities that can help ASK advance its mission; serve as the chief fundraiser; serve as the official spokesperson; work with the board of directors on matters of mission, vision, strategy, fundraising and governance; develop, manage and monitor the organization’s budget; provide leadership, guidance and development for staff; and to ensure that adequate policies, procedures and systems are in place and operating effectively.

Joe is the father of two young children, one being a child with special needs. Joe’s passion is helping parents of children with special needs navigate their daily existence, with grace and dignity.

Joe received an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University and a BS in Journalism from Ball State University.
