Mission
The Bone Marrow Failure Clinic is dedicated to providing comprehensive multidisciplinary care to children with bone marrow failure syndromes.
Program Description

This consultation clinic at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center provides second opinions, diagnosis, and potential treatment for a variety of rare diseases that lead to failure of the bone marrow in childhood.

Types of diseases seen as this clinic include:

  • Congenital amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia
  • Cyclic neutropenia
  • Diamond-Blackfan anemia
  • Dyskeratosis congenita
  • Glanzmann’s thrombasthenia
  • Hereditary sideroblastic anemia
  • Idiopathic severe aplastic anemia
  • Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria
  • Porphyria (especially congenital erythropoietic porphyria)
  • Shwachman-Diamond syndrome

Families and patients can seek second opinions or primary diagnosis and treatment through this center.
