Our mission is to increase and broaden public knowledge and awareness of the behaviors, social issues and emotional needs of individuals on the autism spectrum so that all individuals can participate in and contribute to our community without fear or bias or loss of individuality.
Program Description
Answers for Autism is a non-profit organization that focuses on raising funds for Indiana programs that serve individuals on the autism spectrum and increase awareness of autism. It was founded in 2000 by parents of children on the autism spectrum living in the Central Indiana area. The organization continues to be led by volunteers who are parents and family members of individuals on the autism spectrum.

Funds raised and donated to Answers for Autism are used to provide grants to other Indiana based non-profit organizations that provide services such as education, training and recreational activities to individuals on the autism spectrum, their families or those that provide services to them.

The Answers for Autism Grant Program accepts grant requests that are consistent with its mission of helping individuals with autism participate in and contribute to our community without fear of bias or loss of individuality. Grants from non-profit organizations will be considered in two categories: Public Awareness Program and Individual and/or Family Support Program. The deadlines for grant application submission are March 15 and October 15, of each year. Answers for Autism serves the entire state of Indiana through its grant program and encourages under-served areas of the state to apply for a grant. To date, the organization has provided over 200 grants to 34 Indiana counties and several state wide programs.

Since its inception, Answers for Autism has distributed close to $700,000 in grants and research projects. Answers for Autism relies on donations and funds raised at its various events, the main one being the Answers for Autism Walk held in September at CoxHall Gardens in Carmel. Please consider joining us at one of our events and help us continue serving Indiana families touched by autism. Please check the website: for more information.
