Mission
Founded in 1944, CancerCare is the leading national organization providing free, professional support services and information to help people manage the emotional, practical and financial challenges of cancer.

Our comprehensive services include counseling and support groups over the phone, online and in-person, educational workshops, publications and financial and co-payment assistance. All CancerCare services are provided by oncology social workers and world-leading cancer experts.
Program Description
Children and teens who are affected by cancer have unique needs and concerns.

CancerCare for Kids provides free, professional support services for parents, children and adolescents affected by cancer, as well as information about helping children understand cancer and additional resources.

Counseling: We offer practical support, education and advice to parents, and counseling to children and teens to help them understand cancer.

Support Groups: Professional counseling is offered for children, teens and parents in three different ways: online, on the telephone, and face-to-face. All of our support groups are moderated by professional oncology social workers.

Connect Education Workshops: Our Connect Education Workshops connect cancer experts from around the country to families affected by cancer. Experts discuss topics important to you, including advances in treatment, managing side effects and symptoms, and finding support. Recordings of past programs are available.

Publications: Written by experts, our easy-to-read booklets and fact sheets provide reliable information on cancer-related topics. Download or order our free publications for up-to-date information about the latest treatments, managing side effects and coping with cancer.

Financial Assistance:  Limited financial assistance is often available for costs related to treatment, such as transportation and childcare.
