Accessible Media in the Classroom:  Inclusion of DHH Students in the Multi-Media Millennium
Presented by Whitney Weirick, MA

This webinar is designed to support teachers and interpreters in learning how important it is to consider technology and accessibility when working with deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) students.  We'll approach the issue of accessibility from a deaf perspective, and why this issue is about more than just "turning on captions."  We'll discuss why even though auto-generated captions have come a long way in the past decade, they are often still inaccurate and inappropriate and how they can actually hender inclusion of DHH students in the classroom.  Participants will learn practical tips to help them navigate the multi-media millennium and make classrooms more accessible to all students.

Audience:  Teachers of students who are deaf and hard of hearing, Educational Interpreters, Parents of children who are deaf and hard of hearing, Audiologists, Early Interventionists, and Speech Language Pathologists.
